The government gave the Saranda Base a concession SPAK's investigations into the privatization of the Saranda Naval Base are focused on a lease contract between the Ministry of Finance and the merger of the companies "Kastrati" and "Concord Investment". But a month before the lease contract, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has signed with the same companies a 35-year concession contract for the establishment of a yacht port and services in the water territory of the base. The concession contract was signed on June 23, 2020.
According to the maps South Korea Phone Number List attached to the contract, the yacht port practically blocks the exit of the Fleet to the sea, as it foresees the construction of jetties in the entire coastal area in front of the base, as illustrated by the drawings marked in blue in photo. Although the Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime placed the land territory of the Naval Base under preventive seizure with the argument that its leasing to private parties has affected the operationality of the Fleet, the Saranda Base remains paralyzed after the concession contract for the Port of Yachting remains in force.
